I found it much more fun to fly in the daytime than in the nighttime, while I used to like the nights better with previous versions. I guess this is all due to the texture mapping.
I wouldn't mind seeing city area textures, something we don't have at this moment |

Bruno Glaviano, 1 jul 1998, 21 jul 1998, HI 02 737 36í at cruise altitude I finally realised that the high drag was caused by the gear still lowered! I then tried the anti-noise angled approach on rwy 26 at Honolulu, everything was smooth but I landed on 22L! So I stopped for a while in Honolulu to do some correct approaches and landings on rwy 8L.
HI 32 B767 20í first flight with X-Plane 4. Superb graphics, but I had to fine-tune my joystick and the software so the flight was conducted with heavy use of auto-pilot. Smooth landing.
HI 51-73 ATR-42 20í+30í fine orientation flights with ATR, real weather gave heavy winds with wind-shear and the ATR was jumping like a crazy horse. But, as always, very smooth landings right on the runway.
HI 102 B737 27í again, flight in a thunderstorm
HI 131 B737 43í one of the last flights with X-Plane HSR, very smooth and relaxing
HI 230 B777 45í a fine and quick jump with the super-fast 777, to fine-tune X-Plane 4. Fair wind at San Francisco.
HI 507 A340 55í this was intended to be an easy, relaxing flight just to add some flying time. But, when I was cruising, I was informed that I couldít rely on nose gear for landing. Weather at destination was fine, with good visibility and no wind (real weather, we are having a fine summer in Europe), so I continued my cruise , descent and approach. I completed final approach swimming in my own adrenaline, the heavy 340 touched down like a feather, I held the nose up to slow speed, until it went down itself to scratch Malpensa 35R. This was the best I could do.
HI 504 B767 1h 21í A fine flight, with X-Plane 4, joystick and real-weather finely-tuned. With the last patch from Austin, the Boeings no longer have that ennerving pitch-up. No more cruising with nose 5 degrees under the horizon, or approaches with brakes out all the way. Cruising at 30.000ft with the 767 at mach 0,86 was a very fast way to get to Barcelona. 5h 53' |

HI-200, HNL/SEA 4.9 Hours, 4.9 hours, Two near misses 1. 425 nm out of SEA head-on within 140 feet 2. 385 nm out of SEA head-on within 160 feet - seeing nav lights, Upon arrival to SEA, ILS 34R was off by 500-600 yards 34R was approx. 25' above the ground Anderson, Dan, ?, July 27, 1998, July 26, 1998 HI201 - 6hrs 36mins, 6.6, Due to IFR wx conditions at HNL, IFR approach was difficult. Landed by jockeying last minute (ceiling 600'). Everything uneventful., No problem with scheduling me for any short hops, either. I enjoy SFO/LAX, Tokyo NRT to other cities in Japan, JFK to BUF etc. Hopping from LAX-JFK, for example, is fine (stops in DFW, STL, ORD, BUF, JFK, for example.) Any problem with using RealWeather for as much reality as possible? |

HI228 A340-500 3hrs50min HI603 737-700 58min HI607 MD-88 1hr10min HI632 A320-200 51min HI636 A320 1hr10min, 7hrs52min, Lowlevel windshear on approach to Orlando caused a 20 knot loss of airspeed and a go-around was initiated. ATC was notified and our second attempt at landing, a non-precision approach, was executed without any problems., Can wait for the new schedules we should have all the new flights in by now. |
