HI 4502 Milan-Geneva-Paris B757 1h 7min Excellent IFR flying across the Alps at 18.000ft, with Mont Blanc raising from the clouds, then perfect IFR approach to Geneva just to discover that this ILS is not existing in X-Plane! But the approach was right (thank you instruments again) and even in poor visibility the landing was smooth and right on RWY05. Uneventful trip to Paris, with heavy head-on winds on landing, , smooth landing again. I really love IFR flying, at least on the simulator. HI 4501 Vienna-Munich-Milan B757 1h 15 min Scary landing at Munich, in a rain storm and wind shear at night, better (of course, let me say) weather in Italy with a smooth landing. HI 10 Honolulu-Kona MD-82 "visit Hawaii" 27 min. First smooth landing with heavy cross-wind in my carrer. Today I learned something more, thank you X-Plane. HI 11 Kona-Honolulu MD-82 27 min. Heavy landing this, time, I was ennerved and here's the reason why. Glass cockpits are more accurate for IFR flying, but it's not bad to fly sometimes with good ol'round instruments to keep sharp. But, the compass in the HSI in X-Plane's conventional instruments is too primitive! I think that even boy-scouts have better compasses. The GPS that I'm running on my mountain-bike is more precise than this MD82 compass! Austin please take note. HI 100 Honolulu Kahului Kona B737 41min. This is one of my favorite flights. Followed airway V2 to Maui, then V11. Rough landing! HI 101 Kona Kahului Honolulu B737 48 min. Scary landing at Maui in a thunder-storm, sorry passengers, low visibility at destination, that made me more concentrate on an IFR approach that resulted in a smooth landing. HI 53 Honolulu Molokai ATR-42 16min Rainstorm enroute, fine weather at landing, this is a flight that I really like HI 54 Molokai Honolulu ATR-42 19min Evening departure with fantastic graphics effects, bad weather enroute (IFR to Koko head VOR), smooth landing on rwy 26L after a spectacular show of clouds, rain and city lights under the clouds. Wow! HI 85 Honolulu Lihue A320. 21 min. Strong cross-wind, smooth landing. Another favorite flight. HI 821 San Francisco-Salt Lake City DC-10 1h 15 min. Heavy turbulence at cruise FL35 and wind at landing.

HI30 20 min, HI31 23 min, HI105 29min, , 1:12, On flight 105 (Kona-HNL) I really burned the fuel, therefore it was real quick. I slipped off the Rwy (8L) because I´m not yet used to my new pedals... I still try to learn that the stick doesn´t do anything for ground steering real funny. I still have to work on the spring mechanism on my DIY pedals. , BTW do I have the latest scenery for HNL? I have still a building almost on 4R? See You, Stephan |
