, 1 oct 1998, 25 oct 1998, HI 01 Honolulu Hilo B737 31 min. Rain and light wind, nose gear is off again! HI 02 Hilo Honolulu B737 35 min Scary (for me) approach on angled localiser for runway 26L HI 30 Honolulu Kahului B767 24 min Rain on departure, strong wind at cruise level 9000ft HI 31 Kahului Honolulu B767 22 min, Slats failure, approach and landing on 26L, landed on 26R! HI 50 Honolulu Molokai ATR 19 min Nice VFR flight, dancing between rainstorms and windshear HI 51 Molokai Honolulu ATR 16 min I'm sorry for the passengers, the plane was jumping like a crazy horse HI 82 Honolulu Lihue A320 18 min. First flight with ver 4.40. Heavy wind at Lihue, landed on the taxiway! HI 83 Lihue Honolulu A320 19 min Smooth flight and landing in the rain at Honolulu. Excellent graphics HI 632 San Francisco Los Angeles MD82 44 min. About 80NM from LAX, nav.instruments failure: I am left without GPS, NAV2 and ADF. Emergency landing at Van Nuys, after a very steep descent and intense guess-work to find the right position. But after a nice cross-wind landing, I was exactly where I intended to be. HI 4500 Milan Munich Vienna B757-500 "Visit Hawaii" 70 min. landing in Munich with very low visibility: 2NM and 500ft ceiling. Great satisfaction finding myself exactly on the runway when I started to see something. IFR is very exciting. After an uneventful trip to Vienna, I performed a holding pattern before landing, just to pratice, and again the difficulties raised my concentration and lead to a perfect landing on RWY11. Weather was better here. HI 4504 Milan Nice Barcelona A-330 "visit Hawaii" Difficult (for me) DME arc approach to Nice, then took off immediately for Barcelona, with a slow climb because I forgot to retract the airbrake before taking-off again. Then, straight cruise and smooth landing at Barcelona. It was fine to show to beautiful girl on the '330 tail in the warm mediterranean skies. HI 4507 Rome Milan MD-11 51 min. Very important flight, to test the new MD-11 and to participate in the opening of Malpensa 2000, the new terminal on our hub.
, 7 h 22 min, too many failures with X-Plane "realistic" probability. So I turned it off |

4004 ORD-Milano Linate 8hrs 35 min 4005 Milano Linate - ORD 9 hrs. 30 min. (landed in BOS enroute.) 4512 - 4513 Milan - Berlin - Milan 2hr 25 min 4514 - 4515 Milan - Warsaw - Milan 2hr 45 min 4516 - 4517 Milan - Prague - Milan 2hr 12 min, 25 hrs 27 min., On return from milan to chicago, artificial horizon, GPS went blank and had a failure light for de-icing equipment. While this didnt bother the flight crossing the atlantic (thank God for autopilot!), we decided it was best to land and have these systems repaired before entering chicagos airspace. This delayed the flight since we flew to logan to get fixed up., Still have to fly ord-munich-ord and mia-nassau-mia and should be done by wed, ( I had a hardware failure that req'd replacing the motherboard). That took away about 3 days and backed me up a lot. Dennis Glosik, 10/1/98, 11/1/98, 4006 chicago munich 9hrs 11 min 4007 munich chicago 9 25min., 18hr 36 min, none....lots a boring airspace! :), sorry so late with this flight....I was "moving" into a 450 pentium and it took a few days to get all my stuff into it! also, I have found that the viper 550 card with 16mb is absolutely fantastic...I am seeing things I've never seen before in xp., Submit |
