Flight report for August 2000
HI 003 Chicago London 747-400 (PS1) 7 hours 27 min 3473 NM. First Atlantic crossing! I needed some help from Roberto to create a route. In the middle of the ocean, engine 3 quit, I descended to FL300 as advised by FMC and continued the flight until approaching Ireland, when FMC prompted me that fuel was not enough to arrive at London in this configuration. So I performed an in-flight refuelling (this is possible with simulators, luckily), added 20000lbs and proceeded for an uneventful landing at Heathrow. Total fuel consumption was 179000lbs.
HI 004 London Milan Airbus A330-300 1 hour 22 minutes 576 NM. This flight was flown entirely by hand, that is, following a full IFR flight plan, but without using the autopilot. I needed this, after the complex automatism of the 747-400, to regain a feeling with the flight controls. The huge A330 in exclusive HI livery performed well, running at 0,85M at FL310, for a smooth, fast and comfortable flight as our passengers pretend. 20908lbs fuel burnt.
HI 38 Honolulu Molokai Kahului Dash-8 series 100, 32 min 97 NM, 646 lbs fuel. VFR inter-islands shuttle, with sight-seeing. But, I was so concentrated on landing rwy 20 at Kahului, that I forgot to lower the gear! Few damages resulted, because the approach and landing where quite smooth.
HI 39 Kahului Molokai Honolulu Dash-8 series 100 38 min 117 NM 759 lbs fuel. Night IFR flight back, excellent training.
HI 651 Vienna Munich Milan B757 1 hour 30 min 504 NM 18003 lbs fuel. Flight-test of Tony's 757 for XP 5.32 in HI colours: nice job!
HI 682 Munich Amsterdam Boeing 767 1 hour 5 minutes 401 NM 14221lbs fuel burnt. Across the skies of Europe, following an IFR route along airway B1. Very nice test flight of the custom 767 in HI livery, with the latest 5.32 version of X-Plane.
HI 707 Bora Bora Maupiti Dash-8 series 100 10 minutes 30 NM 207 lbs fuel. Short and easy flight, but small runway to land on! It is better to come here with an amphibian, and drop the passengers directly in the lagoon.
HI 710 Huhaine Raiatea Bora Bora Dash-8 series 100 19 min 54 NM 389 lbs fuel. Another nice flight between the islands.

HI Flight 773 Singapore to Hong Kong while cruising at FL 320 experienced clear air turbulence. Aircraft was thrown into a 20degree heading change and lost 800 ft. 6 passengers and 3 flight attendents were injured but not serious (all hurt were standing up) All injured were taken
to local hospitals in Hong Kong upon arrival.
(Never seen X-Plane do that before. due to moving between scenery segments when the weather
date is totally different in the next segment), No good luck with turbulence this month!
