Take off from Heathrow at 1000 and at the ramp at Milan at 1135

Total time 95 minutes, cruising height 30,000 feet

Aircraft A340, fuel used 20926 lbs, distance 546 miles

Nose gear failure indicated 100 miles from Linate. Landed carefully but could not avoid

underside of plane scraping on runway. Stopped quickly so repairs should be minimal.

Otherwise no problems to report

STOPPING AT KAHULUI (PHOG)

Take off from Honolulu at 1000 and at the ramp at Kahului at 1028
